Dr. Babits started Medicine Wheel Equine Center in Taos in September 2006. Dr. Babits enjoys all aspects of horse care and preventative medicine, and has a particular interest in lameness, reproduction, wound care, and colic.
Goals of Medicine Wheel Equine Center:
- Provide compassionate, caring, state-of-the-art veterinary medicine and surgery to equine patients on a local, regional, state, and national level.
- Provide a haven for horsemanship and correct training - be it dressage, western, ranch work - through apprenticeship programs, clinics, demonstrations, seminars, and training of individual horses and clients.
- Provide training and services to stallions for collection and artificial insemination.
Dr. Babits is also working on establishing a reputable training center that offers special individualized training/retraining, clinics; seminars for horses with behavioral problems and other training issues, observation and evaluation of subtle performance problems and resistances encountered under saddle; reserach, exploration and cultivation of the Horse-Human Herd bond through special horsemanship programs.
The Center will be using Dr. Babits' 
own personal system of training and understanding the mind of the horse.
